2 Albert Place is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house with breathtaking views, situated on the water’s edge at the mouth of the River Fowey

In the heart of the pretty, traditional Cornish town of Fowey, 2 Albert Place occupies a quiet, highly desirable position at the water’s edge.

The house offers stunning views across the estuary to the countryside beyond and also to the picturesque fishing village of Polruan, on the opposite bank of the River Fowey. Polruan can be easily accessed via a sweet passenger ferry.

At low tide you can access the foreshore by the steps from the terrace, and at high tide you can reach the property via the same steps from your own (or a hired) boat.

There is a frape (running mooring) at the house so whether you choose to bring your own boat or hire one during your stay, exploring the harbour and the River Fowey couldn't be easier. We can help you to arrange boat hire (for up to seven people) if you wish.

Please note that the running mooring dries at low tide, so if you are not using the local hire boat that we recommend, do check that your own boat is suitable.

Changeover day

Changeover day is Friday but we will try to as flexible as we can outside peak periods, so if you have a specific enquiry let us know.

Car parking

As is the case with most houses in central Fowey, there is no parking at the property. You can stop outside the house briefly to unload or park for a maximum of two hours at Albert Quay (50 yards away). Long-stay parking is available at Caffa Mill or Main Car Park ­– please see attached map or visit http://cornwall.gov.uk/transport-and-streets/parking/cornwall-council-car-parks/car-park-locations-charges-and-facilities/fowey/ for information.

Hopefully parking should not be a problem as everything is on your doorstep. As a family, we have spent many relaxing weeks in Fowey during which we have not used the car at all.

Boat hire

Boat hire can be arranged through Maurice at http://www.fowey-river-boat-hire.co.uk/.  We have hired from him in the past and who is familiar with our house and mooring. The boats take up to seven people and can be used to explore up the river and the creeks, over to the village of Polruan and as far as the mouth of the estuary. Providing there is no adverse weather, the boat can be moored just outside the house for you to use whenever you wish.
